When times get tough, the community comes together to show support. This has certainly been a rough year for a lot of families, and the holiday season is only going to amplify those struggles. That is why Amherst Self Storage is partnering with The Salvation Army to help make sure our neighbors are taken care of in their time of need. You can donate money at our Federal Street office that will then go toward local services. During the holidays, we want to make sure all our Belchertown MA neighbors feel loved and supported.
Everyone is familiar with The Salvation Army’s red kettle programs. Usually you see volunteers at the entrances to shops during the holiday season. Those donations fund the many services that The Salvation Army distributes throughout the community. However, with more people shopping online and fewer people carrying cash in their wallets, the red kettle program is not expected to hit the marks it has made in previous years. The Salvation Army needs your help more than ever to fund programs that help families pay their bills, buy groceries, and more.
Another goal The Salvation Army has in its Rescue Christmas initiative is to make sure children have presents to open on Christmas. The Angel Tree program matches kids’ wish lists with donors who are willing to purchase the wished items. If the wish is not picked off a tree or does get returned, monetary donations also go toward purchasing those.
You can make a difference this holiday season by supporting your neighbors. When you donate to The Salvation Army through Amherst Self Storage, your local community directly benefits. Since March, The Salvation Army has already provided 12 million meals across Massachusetts.
